Our annual issue submissions are closed, but that means it’s time to kick off our first Flash 405 contest of 2018!

Flash 405 is Exposition Review’s multi-genre short form writing competition, awarding cash prizes and online publication to the winners. You can read the full rules and find past contest winners here. Entries for our next round will be accepted from February 4-March 5, 2018 via Submittable.

As we read submissions for our “Orbit” issue, it’s natural that we judge any new piece against those from our previous issue. Vol. II: “Surface” was our strongest issue yet, and we were proud to share such a diverse collection of powerful, unique narratives in multiple and even hybrid genres. A few of those pieces, however, shined exceptionally bright, and we now recognize those works by putting them forward for consideration for several prestigious literary prizes.

Exposition Review is excited to announce the winners of Flash 405, August 2017: “Blue”! For our final 2017 round of Flash 405, guest judges David Lott and Michele Raphael, co-founders and editors of Angels Flight • literary west, called for works that would “take us into who and what we are and what we will become.”
