Call for Submissions for Vol. X: “Spring”

Exposition Review is happy to announce the theme for our tenth annual issue: “Spring.”

Submissions will be open September 15–December 15*, 2024. We accept work in all forms: fiction, flash fiction, nonfiction, poetry, scripts for stage & screen, experimental narratives, visual art, film, and comics.

*Submissions have been extended through December 31, 2024, for Nonfiction, Experimental, Visual Art, Comics, and Film.

Call for Submissions for Vol. IX: “POP!”

Call for Entries: Flash 405, April 2023: “Flight”


Another round of Flash 405 is taking “flight” with guest judge Lucy Zhang!

Lucy’s flash fiction piece “Unstable Relationship” appeared in Exposition Review Vol. VII: “Flux”, and was nominated and selected for Best Microfiction 2023. She’ll now be selecting the winners for this Flash 405 contest, which is based on her chosen theme, “Flight.”

Call for Entries: Flash 405, February 2023: “Tacky”

We are delighted to kick off another round of Flash 405 with a new prompt, “Tacky,” chosen by our own Kes Nave!

Kes started her journey with Exposition Review as a participant in our annual “Share Your Voice!” publishing workshop and a contributor to our “Wonder” issue with her first published poem “Justice Favors Fortune.” Then she was an intern on our “Act/Break” issue and an associate editor on “Hunger” and “Flux.” And for our upcoming issue, “Lines,” Kes is serving as Stage & Screen Editor.

Our annual issue submissions are closed, but you know what that means—it’s time for the 2017 Flash 405 season! That’s right, Expo’s multi-genre short form writing competition is back. Offering you a chance to win cash prizes and online publication, we will be accepting entries for our first round of Flash 405 from February 4–March 5, 2017. We accept entries in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and stage & screen via Submittable.

It’s that time of year again: submission season. From September 15-December 15, 2016, we’ll be accepting submissions our annual issue. Exposition Review accepts narratives in the genres of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, stage & screen, art & photography, comics, and we’re excited to announce this year we will now also accept submissions of experimental narratives!
