Artist’s Statement

Veronica Marshall is interested in the playful use of color to communicate different points of perspective. Whether the work is five inches by five inches or thirty by forty inches, size is not a challenge in communicating the narration between the artist and the paintbrush versus painting to the viewer. The idea of emotion and color play into Marshall’s paintings, as well as the idea of how we as people judge things at first glance.

Veronica Marshall received her master of fine arts from Otis College of Art and Design. She has been published in Blood Orange Review, Red Ogre Review, and StreetLit. Her paintings Hiding the Unnecessary and Mirage will be featured in the “Spring” issue of Exposition Review. Marshall is inspired by the use of perspective and texture.
