Artist’s Statement
My artistic practice explores the complexities of human nature, emotion, and the countless ideas that shape our shared existence. Through each work, I seek to capture the subtle moments of vulnerability, resilience, joy, and reflection that define what it means to be human. Rather than offering fixed answers, my art invites viewers to engage with their own experiences and emotions, creating space for personal interpretation and connection.
At the heart of my work is the pursuit of freedom of expression, thought, and identity. Every piece becomes a visual language through which I communicate feelings and ideas that words often fail to express.
Art, for me, is not simply about creating images; it is about revealing the inner voice and giving form to the unseen emotions of the heart.
I believe that while every artwork begins from a deeply personal place, it has the power to resonate universally. As I would say, “Art is an evidence of what is single to one, and accompanied by all.” What is unique to one individual often reflects something shared by humanity. My hope is that each work serves as a bridge between the personal and the collective, reminding us that our individual stories, though distinct, are connected by the common threads of human experience.
Adedeji John Oluwaseun is a self-taught pen artist. He was born in the year 2001, grew up in Lagos, and formally trained as an I.T. student at the Universal Studios of Art. He has been inspired by Abiodun Olaku, Joshua Nmesirionye, Salako Olajide, and the likes of studio instructors.
