Exposition Review is excited to announce the theme for our fifth annual issue: Act/Break.
Submissions will be open from September 15–December 15, 2019. We accept work in all forms: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, scripts for stage & screen, experimental narratives, visual art, and comics. Volume V also includes a huge milestone: payment for all contributors.

Our first contest of 2019 is here! This year’s February Flash 405 will celebrate Valentine’s with a “Happily Ever After” theme from guest judge Maureen Lee Lenker.
Flash 405 is Exposition Review’s multi-genre short form writing competition, awarding cash prizes and online publication to the winners. You can read the full rules and find past contests and winners here. Entries for our next round will be accepted from February 4-March 5, 2019 via Submittable.

This year Expo kicked off the holiday season with our first end-of-year fundraiser and a special No Fee Submission Day on #GivingTuesday… but the holidays aren’t over yet! It’s the season that keeps on giving, which is why Exposition Review is extending our submission deadline!
Exposition Review is dedicated to creating more opportunities for our ever-growing community of talented, diverse writers and artists to share their voices and grow their platform. This is why, from the very beginning, Expo has been a nominating literary journal. Every year we recognize our strongest published works by submitting them for consideration for a variety of prestigious literary awards and anthologies. We are proud to present our nominees from our “Orbit” issue.
How did this year go by so fast? As we wind down the end of our submission season, we’ve had time to reflect on our achievements as well as other amazing literary organizations that support writers, artists, youth, and our whole community. In the spirit of giving thanks, we’re sharing our top picks to donate your dollars for #GivingTuesday on November 27, 2018 (and giving back ourselves with a NO FEE submission day!).

Exposition Review has always been a multi-genre journal, publishing prose, poetry, and stage & screen. Yet we’ve always been aware that for the latter category, the plays we publish are not in their final form: they are meant to be performed in front of an audience. That’s why Exposition Review is so excited to announce that we’ll be helping one of our plays transcend the page!
Jeffrey Lo’s Where You’re From first appeared as a short play in Vol. I: IX Lives; now, it’ll be performed as a staged reading of a full play, Waiting For Next, at the Chromolume Theatre!
